Appointment of the Chair

As noted at the Annual Borough Council the Chair must be a Councillor.

 

Minutes:

Councillor Foote was appointed Chair for the municipal year 2016/2017.

2.

Appointment of the Vice-Chair

As noted at the Annual Borough Council the Vice Chair must be a representative from staff-side.

Minutes:

Riaz Haq was appointed Vice-Chair for the municipal year 2016/2017.

Declarations of interest or any other communications from Members

Minutes:

It was noted that Jane Boyd had now left and Riaz Haq would be her replacement on the Committee. There was not yet a replacement for Luke Kirton from the GMB union.

Minutes:

The minutes of the meeting held on 18 January 2016 (agenda item 4) were agreed, with the following amendment:

 

Ms Fontinelle’s name was spelt with an ‘i’ rather than an ’a’ (item 18, page 1 refers).

 

Matters Arising

 

Ms Fontinelle advised that the draft policy for lone workers had been recirculated and signed off. She agreed to provide a copy to the Committee, as some of the members had not seen it. It was also agreed that a joint motion would be put to Borough Council in September in support of a corporate policy for lone working, including an action plan and an agreed deadline (item 19, page 1 refers).

 

Resolved:

 

a)    That the draft policy for lone workers be provided to members of the Committee.

b)    That a joint motion be put to Borough Council in September in support of a corporate policy for lone workers, including an action plan and an agreed deadline.

Ms Fontinelle highlighted the main points in the report.

 

Members agreed that the contractors at Fusion should be invited to attend the next meeting in relation to concerns about Brentford Leisure Centre and requested that information about their insurance be provided.

 

Resolved:

 

That the contractors at Fusion be invited to attend the next meeting in relation to concerns about Brentford Leisure Centre and be requested to provide information about their insurance.

Urgent Business

Any business accepted by the chair on grounds of urgency.

Minutes:

It was noted that information about Councillor’s surgeries would be included in the corporate policy for lone working, as discussed earlier in the meeting.
