The Finance and Performance Scrutiny Panel was decommissioned in June 2012.  It’s functions are now the responsibility of the main Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

The Finance and Performance Scrutiny Panel played an important and continuous role in scrutinising the Council's performance and finances. Annually this panel takes the lead in scrutinising the budget proposals of Council departments and produces a response to the Executive’s proposed revenue and expenditure strategies. It is also responsible for ensuring scrutiny of the performance management and Best Value processes and reserves the right to challenge reviews and to act as a 'critical friend' to the Council. The Finance and Performance Scrutiny Panel is the successor body to the Budget and Performance Scrutiny Panel as of 30^th June 2010.
